It’s a car. It’s a bus. No! It’s a…

We live in a city. A BIG city. It’s one of the largest in China with a population close to that of New York City.

The streets are very crowded. Full of cars and buses and taxis…

and bicycles and tricycles and pedestrians…

and…

donkeys.

We have a little “game” we like to play. It’s kind of like punch bug but instead of punching you just yell “donkey” whenever you see one.

And they aren’t just on quiet little side streets where you’d expect to see them. Ok, I’m not sure if there’s any city street where you’d expect to see a donkey. But anyway, there’s no telling where you might spot one. We’ve even seen them on the big ring road. That would be like passing a horse and buggy on Interstate-85. It’s bizarre.

But now, it’s just a normal day in China.
